AI Image Generation Inside Your Editor
Need a quick sketch for a blog post, a diagram for documentation, or an illustration for a presentation? The Image Generation extension lets you create images from text prompts directly in Nimbalyst without switching to a separate tool.
Key Features
- Text-to-image generation — Describe what you want and get an image. “A minimalist sketch of a client-server architecture” or “An illustration of a deployment pipeline.”
- Style presets — Choose from sketch, diagram, illustration, and other styles to match your use case.
- Project files — Organize related generations in
.imgprojproject files. Compare variations, iterate on prompts, and keep a history of your work. - AI tool integration — The AI can generate images during conversations, making it easy to create visuals as part of a broader workflow.
Use Cases
- Documentation visuals — Generate diagrams and illustrations for technical docs, blog posts, and READMEs.
- Concept exploration — Quickly visualize ideas before investing in polished designs.
- Presentation assets — Create slides-ready visuals from descriptions.
- Creative brainstorming — Generate multiple variations and pick the best direction.
How It Works
Create a new .imgproj file from the New File menu. Enter a text prompt and select a style preset. The extension generates images and displays them in the project view. You can generate multiple variations per prompt, compare them side by side, and iterate on your descriptions. The AI tool is also available in chat, so you can ask the AI to generate images as part of any conversation.
